FAQs

What is personal training?

Personal training consists of one on one coaching from a certified personal fitness trainer… this trainer teaches you, motivates you, and gets you to work hard consistently while following a detailed fitness plan which the trainer develops for you based on you and your goals.

What Takes Place In a Fitness Consultation?

Your fitness consultation will consist of fitness assessment and nutritional discussion(depending on package purchased) this will help me understand any  limiting conditions and create a safe and effective routine (in some cases a doctor’s release is required to start an exercise program).

Consisting of:

Fitness testing provides a starting point for your program, as well as a way to measure progress toward your goals. I give each client a meal diary to fill out for a 1 week period. This will help in ensuring that your nutritional intake will support your efforts with in home training.

Why Should I Use A Trainer? What Sets You Apart From Other Trainers?

Having a trainer takes the guesswork out of exercise and diet and ensures that you will reach your goals safely and effectively in the shortest possible time. Constant monitoring and adjusting of your program, as well as providing supervision and motivation, leads to attaining your goals much more quickly.

What kind of results can I expect?

It truly depends on you and how bad you want to achieve your goals and how hard you are willing to work.

On average, most clients lose approximately 1 pound of body fat (not scale weight) per week and often will lose 5-15 pounds in a 6 week period.

How often should I meet with a personal trainer?

This will depend upon your goals, how quickly you want to achieve them, your schedule and time available to exercise, and your budget… but when considering the cost, be sure to remember that this is your health and there is nothing on earth that is more important… because without it you have nothing.

On average, most clients do best when they meet with a personal trainer 2-3 times per week… less than that many people will slack off and not get nearly as much out of it.

Do I need to have equipment if I am going to be working with a trainer in my home?

No, we specialize in  in-home  training, our clients have little or no equipment at all we provide everything needed to help you reach your goals and have an effective workout. Unless you are into power lifting, bodybuilding, or competitive sports you don’t need lots of machines… all you need is to work the muscles and you can do that with body weight calisthenics, exercise bands, free weights, manual resistance, exercise balls, etc.

What kinds of people do you train?

We train people of all ages, backgrounds, and fitness levels. Our clients have one thing in common, a desire to change and a willingness to enlist the expertise of professionals to do it.

The reasons people work with personal trainers are as varied as the clients we serve. Some clients come to us with 30, 40, or 50 pounds or more to lose while others are already conditioned and fit, but want to increase muscle tone and definition. Many “Baby Boomers” are discovering that personal training is a valuable tool against aging, and in maintaining their health and vigor. Young athletes are using personal trainers to increase sports specific strength, agility, and dexterity, while brides-to-be are seeking to just fit into that dream dress on their special day.
