Hello, I have been trying to lose my midsection for the past year with no sucess. I have tried every ab machine at my gym. What is the best way to lose your midsection??
Very good question Tonia,
This is an issue many people have, it takes more then the standard crunch to loose the midsection. Abs love to be challenged, just by changing the angle of a move you can train the entire ab muslce. An intense cardio workout will not only shed all over body fat but also trigger the AB section as well. Here are a few great ab exercises that you can do both at the gym and at home:
Upper abs- Reverse crunch,Scissor kick,V-up
Lower abs- Weighted crunch, Ball crunch,Ball pass
Obliques- Romain twist, side crunch
Core- Side plank,Standard plank
These are just a few there are thousands of ab exercises out there have fun with them and see which ones best responds to your body….key word HAVE FUN!!!
Hello, I’m looking to gain weight but for some reason I can’t. Sometimes I eat a lot and then go to sleep but when I wake up I have lost like 3 pounds. I have tried everything from working out to eating unhealthy and I’m still not gaining, I’m actually losing. How can I gain weight fast?
Hi, I am trying to lose weight and I know that I have to drink plenty of water, but I don’t like the taste is there anything that I can add to it that is healthy and would taste better? Also what can I do besides walking that is not weight bearing?
Cambron,
Gaining weight can be a difficult task but with the right guidance and being consistent it can be obtained.
Increasing your intake of junk foods and greasy foods is not a good way to gain weight. Junk foods usually contain unhealthy trans fats or saturated fats. In order to gain quality weight, the nutrients taken in have to be of a high quality nature. You need to consume more calories every day from healthy foods and choose the right types of exercise.
Those calories should come from foods that are good for you. Healthy fats include omega-3 essential fatty acids sources like tuna, salmon, flax, and walnuts. Good sources of protein include lean meats, fish, poultry, nuts, seeds and legumes. Healthy carbohydrate sources include fruits, vegetables and whole grains. It may be easier to eat five or six smaller balanced meals per day rather than eating three large meals, especially if you are not used to eating much at one sitting.
Protein powders and nutritional supplement drinks such as Ensure can be added as in-between meal snacks. Some protein powders are flavored and taste great when fruit and milk are added.
KoShema,
I also have a hard time getting my daily dose of water (96 oz) in some of the tricks I have done that make it a little easier is add lemon or a little cranberry juice just to give flavor. There are several flavored water packets you can add such as Crystal Light and Propel. The only warnings I add with these are be on the lookout of aspartame, this is a type of sweetener that can cause headaches.
Non- weight bearing exercises can be part of a well-rounded exercise program, but do not help to build bones. If you like these activities, try to add in others that work your bones
Some of these exercises include:
• Bicycling
• Water Aerobics
• Swimming
• Stretching and flexibility exercises
Non-impact exercises can help you to improve balance, posture, and how well you move in everyday activities. These exercises can also help to increase muscle strength and decrease the risk of falls and broken bones.
Some of these exercises include:
• Balance exercises: strengthen your legs and challenge your balance
• Posture exercises: improves posture and reduce rounded or sloping shoulders
• Functional exercise: improves how well you move and can help in everyday activities and decrease the risk of falls
